Story
Shelters Direct began in 1993 with an unconventional request: used fuel tanks to be converted into storm shelters. While we’ve moved beyond that original concept, it established our foundation as problem-solvers willing to engineer creative solutions for unique challenges.
Over three decades, we’ve evolved into an industry leader specializing in three core product lines: prefabricated booths, pre-engineered steel canopies, and aluminum or steel shelters.
Our growth has been driven by strong relationships with general contractors and a commitment to delivering complete, turnkey solutions that eliminate coordination headaches.
A pivotal moment came when we became the basis of design for break area canopies for a major
e-commerce retailer. Since 2017, this relationship led to providing over 500 structures across the United States and Canada, establishing us as the industry leader in this market segment.
